30 Content Ideas For Businesses

A lot of people say to me, “Matt, I have no idea what to talk about. I’m not that interesting.”

Well, there is a plethora of content ideas for entrepreneurs and business owners out there actually. But I understand that coming up with content ideas can be a little overwhelming sometimes. In this post, I’ll pick out a few right off my 30-Day Content Calendar, which is a free guide for those who need engaging content ideas.

1. Favorite part of my job

You can talk about the best part of your job, and you can talk about what your actual job is. You’re subtly telling people what you actually do.

Don’t forget to ask them, “What’s the favorite part of your job?” Asking questions is key to keeping your viewer engaged.

2. Success in my business

Show off the things that you’ve done that are great for your business. A good way to present this is to share your client’s success. This is great because, in a way, you’re also promoting your business.

3. Aspirations in business

Having aspirations is something that a lot of people can relate to. You can simply show your audience where you want your business to go. Again, it’s a subtle way to describe your business and promote it.

Also ask your viewers, “Where do you want to go with your business?” This gives them a chance to share their aspirations as well. A simple question like this is a great conversation starter.

4. Someone I look up to in business

This is a great opportunity for you to tag in somebody that you look up to, someone you aspire to in business and life.

It’s also a great chance for you to get in front of their audience by tagging them in. If you’re giving them some praise and saying that you aspire to be them, I’m sure it will be very much appreciated. But don’t overdo this, you don’t want to abuse content like this.

5. I didn’t know I’d be doing this in business

Videos like this have a good potential to grab attention. It’s a fresher perspective, especially if you’ve done videos about your best practices and what you usually do for your business. Sharing with your audience what you didn’t expect to do shows them another side of you.

People will also engage with this, if you ask them what they didn’t expect to be doing.

6. A great client testimonial

It’s one thing to share your success from your own perspective. But if you bring a client in and ask them to share their experience, it gives your success more meaning and credibility.

If clients have given you a written testimony, you could take them into the testimonial video. It’s great content to boost your authority in your field. Plus, it’s a good opportunity to widen your audience by tagging your clients on your socials.

7. Highlight your career in business

This is a brief overview of your career and your journey in business. If you’re just getting started, you might talk about the career you had before. Or, if you’ve been in business a while, you might want to talk about the ups and downs of business.

Content like this allows your viewers a peak behind the scenes. It’s a good opportunity to show them how you got to where you are right now, which is an interesting way to let them see the person, the human side of the business.

8. Fantastic advice that I got today

Sharing some fantastic advice that you got is a great way to get over people, to engage and say what\’s the best thing they’ve also heard. It’s a simple way to start a conversation that a lot of people can relate to.

9. Favorite inspirational quote

Like the previous idea, it’s simple content that has a really good potential to ignite a conversation. You see this a lot in business, people sharing inspirational quotes in their socials. You can easily do this through video as well. Don’t just share the quote as most people do, tell them why it’s good for you.

10. The last book I read

Again, this is something that can really engage your audience. You get to share the book that you last read, and at the same time ask people what they’ve read, too.

It\’s a great conversation starter. And, it gives you the chance to get the attention of other people and expand your audience.

11. The film you can watch on repeat

This has nothing to do with business, but again, it’s a good conversation starter. Plus, topics like this give your audience a chance to know a little more about you beyond the business. The behind-the-scenes stuff is interesting to a lot of people because it allows them to connect with you on a level beyond what you normally do.
